Mil Palmeras Beach Costa Blanca Spain

Mil Palmeras - Costa Blanca - Spain

Mil Palmeras: Situated in the south of the Costa Blanca region of Spain, Mil Palmeras is a popular beach resort with decent facilities and a perfect location for touring the southern Costa Blanca, and the Costa Calida. It is one of the much loved Orihuela Costa resorts and is just twenty minutes drive from San Javier (Murcia) airport. Its biggest attraction is its sandy beach, especially at Riomar where it can get very crowded in the height of the season.

Lapped by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Mil Palmeras is in the Alicante province of the Comunidad de Valencia (autonomous community), close to its border with Murcia and the Costa Calida.

There are plenty of other resorts nearby, which you can visit on a trip to Mil Palmeras, the closest being Dehesa de Campoamor, Torre de la Horadada and Cabo Roig. All the neighbouring resorts (including these 3) have excellent sandy beaches. Travel a little further south and you will reach the Mar Menor, a unique inland sea with only a narrow channel joining it to the Mediterranean. Here there are fantastic beaches, shallow warm waters and very safe bathing conditions. There is also a healing mud bath at Lo Pagan, and to the north the bustling resort of Torrevieja.

Mil Palmeras Weather: As you would expect, one of the main attractions of Mil Palmeras is its fine weather conditions, with lots of sunshine and low rainfall, it is said to experience over 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, I haven't counted them myself, but I would guess that it is about right.

Mil Palmeras Golf: The resort is a great spot for golfers with plenty of golf courses within easy driving distance, in fact there are four courses which you can reach by car in less than 15 minutes. The closest is Campoamor golf course, with others at Las Ramblas, Villamartin and Lo Romero. There are many more courses as you head towards the city of Murcia.

Mil Palmeras Beach: A nice sandy beach is the main requirement of a holiday resort, and Mil Palmeras does not disappoint in this respect, with a large and well equipped beach in the area known as Riomar (Rio Mar), there is a beach bar (chiringuito), large car park and lifeguards on duty during the busy times.

Mil Palmeras Nightlife: The resort is not so well known for its nightlife and you should head for Campoamor or Cabo Roig if that is what you are looking for, it does of course have a choice of bars and restaurants.

Mil Palmeras Accommodation: While there is a variety of accommodation for you stay in Mil Palmeras, the most popular choice is to rent self-catering apartments or villas, of which there is a good selection in the area. For something closer to hotel style accommodation, you could try the Palmera Beach Apartments, which is an aparthotel.

You can access Mil Palmeras from both the N-332 and the AP-7 motorway, from the motorway get off at junction 768 (marked Dehesa de Campoamor), in the summer the N-332 can get quite busy, so the motorway may be the best option, though you will have to touch the N-332 at some point. The nearest airports to Mil Palmeras are San Javier (Murcia) about 20 minutes drive, and Alicante, about 45 minutes drive.
